I would also like to see a Boys U16 football team. I would love to play in the cricket and rounders teams though. Submitted By: Andrew MacCormick

As an avid cricket fan, and enthusiastic player, I think its about time there was a cricket team in our village. With such a demand for a boys sports team, a boys cricket team is certainly what us young lads deserve. We are yet to see a under 16's football team (which i would sign up for as the additional sports collumn) or any other sports for that matter. There should, and will be a large response from me and my group of friends. We are constantly trudging down the field with our pads, bats, spring wickets and most importantly balls. We are sometimes there for hours on end, just playing 2 on 2, and we just cant get enough. We have a passion for cricket. Personally, if a cricket side isnt made, id be gutted, but if only a mens side was made, id be disheartened. So to conclude, a Boys cricket team would be the best news out of Cotford for a long time, i would quite easily quit Bishops Lydeard CC to come join our village, and hopefully start a surge for trophies. Please get a team

I think a cricket team would be perfect for cotford and im sure i know lots of friends who would play. Im 13 and often quite a lot of our friends go down the field to play circket so i know poeple who would join. Maybe a cricket strip even would be good because i know there used to be on which was great. als cotfrod has a good flat pitch which normally is in good ciket conditions during the spring and summer as it says about any toher sports many of us in cotford have been pleeding for a teenage the ages of 13,14,15,16 football team more poeple play football than cricket in cotford so this would get lots of publition and players. Please thank you hope you run it. Submitted By: Louis bennett

A few jokes to lighten things up Hi again, I think the Lord wants you to know he has a sense of humour, despite having a totally sever side also. A bit like two sides to him, like Nuit and Hadit; which if you are into the occult you will have heard of. Anyway the jokes. These only work in the King James version due to the change of the meaning of words over time. Joke one, on drinking: Acts 28 15 15 "And from thence, when the brethren heard of us, they came to meet us as far as ...The three taverns: whom when Paul saw, he thanked God, and took courage." Cheers Paul, the rounds on you. The second is about eating: 2 Peter 3 verse 3: Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers..." Yum. So "Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off." Romans 11:22 Or as the Amplified Bible (a pun on your musical interests: not sure what amp the translator used

Hi Chemical Emissions, I just sent you some warnings from the Scriptures. Corinthians and Daniel Now I have just found the website for your Independant Record Label and seen your inverted five pointed star logo, which says it all. Well, well, is that why you want the altar. Black arts?

After, yesterday, posting my brief concerns about a decomissioned Church being used as a pub in Cotford; due to the sacred nature of Communion (ie eating and drinking in the Lord's presence without due regard) I was reminded that not only are there warnings in the New Testament about taking the things of God lightly, but also in the Old Testament. It seems God may not like these sorts of gags. The passage I was refering to yesterday is 1st Corinthians Chapter 11: "20 Therefore when you meet together, it is not to eat the Lord’s Supper, 21 for in your eating each one takes his own supper first; and one is hungry and another is drunk. 22 What! Do you not have houses in which to eat and drink? Or do you despise the church of God and shame those who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you? In this I will not praise you. 23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread; 24 and

Church as pub I recently found out the church building is now a pub. A suprise. I think I have mixed feelings about this and not sure what the Lord makes of it all. After all vicars do meet parishoners in pubs these days, from time to time, for gently evangelism purposes. But the photo I saw outside the church/pub shows the altar is still there, and this for some reason bothers me. They used to ring the bell at 12 noon to summon the faithful to the pub when it opened on Sundays? I am reminded that there are severe warnings for taking communion without recognising the body of Christ, and the place is now a place of self indulgence and drunkness, and Paul said "some of you go hungry while others eat, and some get drunk" (my paraphrase!)...and "for this reason some of you are weak/sick and some have died". So I really wonder about it all.
